Tragically, one of these students passed away at the scene, while another remains in critical condition. A third student remains hospitalized, and the fourth has been released from the hospital.
"Our hearts are broken for these families and for everyone affected by this tragedy. As a school system we are committed to supporting our students and staff during this difficult time.
"Tomorrow, we will have counselors and other support resources available on campus for students who need someone to talk to or simply a safe space to process their emotions. We encourage anyone who needs help to take advantage of these services.
"We ask that you continue to keep these families in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead. Together, we will lean on each other for strength as we navigate this loss as a community." - Dr. Bart Reeves, Superintendent of Albertville City Schools
